Content Management System

Easyspace

Independent management of a site's content is important to many businesses. Editing and updating regularly ensures the message stays fresh and content is up to speed with whatever is going on in your business. It gives the visitor confidence and conveys a positive image.

At CJ we feel Open Source software (OSS) is a great way to provide you a tool to do exactly that.

Why OSS?

What better way to develop software or any other product, than letting the best resources available access its source and have an input in its development, regardless of geographic location, creed or breed? OSS embraces just that: there are no budgets involved; no time consuming meetings; no deadlines involved to satisfy tight schedules. OSS often provides module built robust solutions that are flexible and highly secure because it is developed by programmers willing to dedicate their time to explore the ever evolving internet and its potential. Support is often second to none, as you have access to endless forums, FAQs and blogs on the particular subject and the solution is usually readily found as some other soul may have already previously faced your issue.

Read through the following articles where you will find more about it and points to back what we are stating:

>> Why Open Source? (redhat.com)
>> Open source software (wikipedia.org)

>> Why Open Source Software / Free Software (OSS/FS, FLOSS, or FOSS)? Look at the Numbers! (dwheeler.com, 2007)
>> A review of open source content management systems (openadvantage.org, 2005)

Which OSS?

With the above in mind, we have a couple of options you may like to have a look at: Joomla and Drupal. These are OSS solutions available as free resources on the internet, provided by dedicated developers and offering an alternative to paid off-the-shelf products. This can prove low cost to you by deciding to use CJ to install and customise.

Joomla or Drupal?

CJ has researched Joomla and Drupal carefully and although nothing in life is guaranteed (apart from taxes!) they rate well in their field. Very user friendly and CJ can implement either to suit your needs. See for yourself.

eCommerce

In addition, CJ is also able to provide an online shop set-up service via the equally open sourced Freeway. An advanced platform created to enable businesses to trade online without having to resort to costly bespoke and customised e-commerce solutions. Again, CJ can implement this for you.
